Breakfast with Karl: A Whimsical Farm Tale
Breakfast with Karl: Stories from the Coop
Imagine a breakfast experience that transcends the ordinary, inviting you to share the most important meal of the day with an unlikely companion – a Rooster. In this whimsical blog, we'll embark on a delightful journey into the world of having breakfast with a feathered friend, exploring the unexpected magic, joy and laughter that unfolds when you break gluten free bread with a clucking companion.
Picture this: you wake up to the gentle rays of the morning sun, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. As you step into your coveralls and put on your boots, you hear the crow of a Rooster. "Cock a Doodle Do" and in this case a deep, audible breath back in, almost a wheez if you will. You step outside to the paddock and there he is – your feathered breakfast buddy, clucking contentedly. This unconventional, feathered, companion adds a touch of whimsy to your morning routine, turning the day into a charming adventure.
Meet Karl
Karl is an 8 month old Silver-Laced Wyandotte rooster.
Creating a breakfast spread for a Rooster and a human may seem like a peculiar endeavor, but it's a heartwarming experience. The feeder bowl is set with Gala apples and freeze dried meal worms combined with a bowl of nutrient-rich grains, Karl's favorite. Fresh coffee with oatmilk is the centerpiece of my breakfast. Sharing the first meal of the day becomes a delightful celebration of the simple pleasures in life.
As we enjoyed breakfast together, we discovered the art of silent communication. The rhythmic clucking and contented purring becomes a language of its own, fostering a unique connection between species. It's a conversation without words, where the sounds of nature blend seamlessly between nibble of apple and sips of coffee. I tell Karl about the plans for the day, he responds with rhythmic pecks that sound like morse code.
Breakfast with Karl injects a dose of laughter and lightheartedness into the morning routine. I watch as my feathered friend pecks at the grains, occasionally giving me a curious sideways glance. The comical antics and playful demeanor Karl shares have a way of lifting ones spirits, turning an ordinary breakfast into a moment of shared joy.
While having breakfast with a 8 month old Rooster might seem unconventional, it's a whimsical adventure that adds a dash of magic to the morning routine. Beyond the crows, clucks and pecks, this experience fosters a deeper connection with nature and celebrates the joy of simple pleasures. So, the next time you sit down for breakfast, consider inviting a feathered friend to join you – you might just find that the most memorable mornings are the ones shared with a Rooster.
